One thousand contacts of 197 index cases over a period of 30 months were examined. 39 were sputum positive while 158 were negative. Of 912 (88 being defaulters) contacts, 600 (65.78%) were tuberculin positive and 188 (20.61%) had tuberculosis ;154 pulmonary and 34 had cervical adenitis.
